TIMING IS EVERYTHING, THEY SAY

TIMING IS EVERYTHING, THEY SAY. But how do you know when is the right time to post on Instagram? When I look back on the most successful artists on Instagram, I see a few key patterns that helped them reach their goals.

Here’s what Curt Hammerly (@hammerlyceramics) told us during a talk I attended locally a few years ago.

“Beautiful images, quality video, and storytelling are the most important things you can do to grow your following.”

He also said to choose ONE platform and focus only on that. He chose Instagram and he’s a huge success with 154k followers and enough revenue to open a studio space outside of his home.

One caveat: Curt’s story is rare. But his advice is true.

While you’re probably not likely to achieve Curt’s level of success on Instagram, you can improve engagement and followers on your own account.

Do this:

  1. Post consistently. 3-4 times per week.
  2. Ask questions that people will love to answer in the comments.
  3. Get them to check out your bio, click the link to your website where they can see more and sign up for your newsletter.
